In addition to prepping for his big appearance on the Oprah Show today, Michael Buble woke up Wednesday morning to learn his new album, Call Me Irresponsible was the #1 best selling album on the planet. The album released on May 1st has topped the chart in Canada since it's debut and has reached #1 in seven markets around the world including Australia, South Africa, Europe, Singapore, Holland, Germany and the USA, where Michael has reached #1 for the first time in his career. The CD debuted on America's Billboard Sales Charts at #2, and this week climbed to the top spot! In addition Call Me Irresponsible is #1 on the Internet, Traditional Jazz and POP charts.
For the past two months he has been doing press and television around the world and on Thursday May 17, he and his band will perform live on Oprah (see local listings).
The album success has been fueled in large part by the incredible airplay the first single, "Everything" has garnered at radio. The song went to radio March 19 and after debuting at #3 on the Canadian Mainstream AC Chart, a week later it reached #1 Airplay where it has remained ever since.
To date Call Me Irresponsible has gone Gold in Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and the UK. It's Platinum in Australia, Singapore, Italy and TWO times Platinum in Canada .... and the momentum keeps growing .....
