Buble doesn't rely on looks alone to carry show

Call him the next Frank Sinatra, if you will. But what Canadian crooner Michael Buble wants to be called is irresponsible. On the opening night of his world tour Thursday at the Reno Events Center, the Grammy-nominated Buble showed off his goofy, sarcastic humor in an attempt to shed his good boy image. The self professed "bad boy" even spoke of a time he rode to the market without a helmet. Bad boy indeed.

The suit-wearing singer's boyish good looks caused grown women in the audience to swoon with the flick of his hand. In fact, some females created quite the distracting scene as they attempted to get Buble's attention. Buble took it all in stride and even indulged a few of them with photos and danced with one lucky fan.

But it was not his witty banter with the crowd of 5,000, or his handsome appearance that truly enchanted the crowd, it was his voice.

With a large band to accompany him (including an excellent brass section), Buble rocked the classics he is known for singing, from a sultry, slow rendition of "Fever" to crowd favorites "Home" and "Save the Last Dance For Me" to the upbeat "Everything." He even threw in a few playful lines of the current Mika song "Grace Kelly." The crowd became very quiet during his nostalgic interpretation of "Always on My Mind."

For the couples in the crowd, his serenades and soothing voice proved to be the perfect mixture for a romantic evening. But for everyone in attendance, it would have been hard not to spend the night falling in love with Buble's style and music.

Before his closing number, he performed "I'm Feeling Good", and I think that is how
the whole crowd was feeling after a night with Buble.
